In each of the cities visited by the BMW Guggenheim Lab, a new Lab Team convened to develop city-specific projects and ideas. In conjunction with Guggenheim staff, the Lab Teams designed rosters of public programming to inspire new ideas and activate dialogue. Nominated by the Advisory Committee, each Lab Team was an innovative, interdisciplinary group of emerging talents in their fields.

The New York Lab Team designed public programs, experiments, and a changing installation exploring the topic of urban systems. The Team investigated how interventions and innovations that decentralize, decelerate, localize, and democratize New Yorkers can reinvent the urban environment, creating a more adaptable and sustainable version of comfort.
